Center for Computation & Technology's Alice in Computation Land Summer Camp

The Alice in Computation Land Summer camp is a camp for middle school girls. The goal of this camp is to interest girls in STEM disciplines for their future and get them interested in problem solving activities of any kind. A secondary goal is to interest the attendees in programming itself as researchers in all disciplines are finding they have to understand programming to work in their disciplines.

One way we help interest the students in research is that each day at the camp we have at least one STEM research professor or staff or industry representatives come and discuss how they became a researcher and why they were interested in research. These speakers demonstrate some of their research work and introduce us to their research students.
